One of the highlights of the year here on Hawarden Estate is the opening of the Old Castle.
The extensive ruins of the Old Castle date back to the 13th Century. Normally closed to the public, The Gladstone family open the castle on a few days a year. A small entry fee is charged and all proceeds go to charity.
