Hawarden Old Castle will be open to visitors this Sunday 2nd April between 2 and 5pm. This is a rare opportunity to see the ruins of the Medieval Castle which stands in the picturesque surroundings of Hawarden Castle Park.
Entry fees are £3 per adult, £2 each for the first two children per family, £3 each for any additional children and toddlers enter for free. All proceeds are going to Riding for the Disabled. Dogs are welcome on leads but please note unaccompanied children will not be admitted.
Entry is on foot only through the red gates in the village centre, opposite the Glynne Arms. Follow the path through the park and enter the Old Castle through Leopold’s Gate.
Please be aware that the return walk is uphill and, due to uneven ground, the Old Castle is not suitable for wheelchairs.
The Old Castle will also be open on the 14th May, 18th June and 13th August.
