Get in the Festive Spirit this Christmas in Hawarden

30th November 2018

Tomorrow is the 1st of December and you may be thinking about spending this weekend putting up your Christmas decorations or getting organised with present shopping.

If you can’t face the busy crowds or don’t fancy fighting with a stranger over the latest must have toy then you will be pleased to know there are plenty of options for Christmas shopping right here in beautiful Hawarden. In fact, you can spend a whole day soaking up the festive atmosphere in the Village.

For gifts you are spoilt for choice. The Winter Marketplace at Hawarden Farm Shop is running every Saturday and Sunday from the 24th November until Christmas. To celebrate the arrival of the Christmas trees there will be a special late night market on the 1st December featuring Holt Community Choir, producers sharing tasters, hot mulled cider and chestnuts roasting on an open fire.

You can also get creative in the Farm Shop with their Food Hall Hampers. Available in small, medium or large you can handpick a personalised selection of treats. With cheese, beer, stationary, books, cacti, candles and more you could get all your Christmas shopping done in one go and they will even wrap it for you. Don’t forget to visit the butchers and deli at the same time to stock up your fridge for the big day and to pick your beautiful fresh cut tree.

Elsewhere in the village, Trilby Pheasant have a stunning seasonal window display behind which you can find treasure trove of gift ideas, from stocking fillers to luxury treats for someone special. The only problem here is trying to remember you are supposed to be buying for other people and not for yourself!

Cedar House Flowers also has some beautiful festive floral gifts and don’t forget to order a beautiful door wreath while you are there, we have already ordered ours.

If all this shopping is wearing you out then it’s definitely time to stop for a break. The Farm Shop offers a tasty selection of light bites and lunches, washed down with a delicious hot coffee or a glass of something a little stronger. The Estate’s pub, The Glynne Arms, will be serving its delicious Christmas menu alongside its regular favourites all to be enjoyed by the fire with a festive cocktail or two.
